 Specifics to Keepsake Jewellery

Breastmilk keepsakes are bespoke items and therefore non refundable. Once the order has been placed, no further changes can be made (with the exception of adding a chain).

Breastmilk varies in colour and so the final colour of your piece can vary depending on how much foremilk or hindmilk is in your sample. The keepsakes can range in colour from white to a pale yellow, sometimes it's even blue tinged - it all depends on the milk composition (please note, the colour of the milk that you send doesn't necessarily show the colour that your keepsake will be as the processes used can cause chemical reactions which may change the colouring).

Once encased in resin, your breastmilk should not discolour. However, breastmilk is a biological substance and therefore it may react with the chemicals used in the resin used to encase it, causing the colour to change slightly - this is not a sign that your milk keepsake is going off. Every woman's milk differs in composition and this means that no two pieces will look alike. It is extremely rare for milk to discolour although if it significantly changes colour within the first 30 days and you have followed my care instructions then I will replace the piece for free, however, you must first return the original item and you will be responsible for return postage.

Resin naturally yellows over time, it is the nature of the substance and the chance of this happening increases with UV exposure, therefore you are advised not to use sun beds or sunbathe whilst wearing your jewellery. I also advise against swimming or showering whilst wearing your jewellery.

All pieces are handmade, therefore tiny air bubbles may appear in your piece, this is completely normal and adds to the charm of the piece. The resin is hand finished and therefore there may be slight irregularities or marks where they were placed in the mould - this is another sign that you have a quality handmade item rather than something mass produced.

Although they may look sturdy, you need to treat your pendant with care as applying pressure, dropping or knocking/bumping the piece through normal daily wear can cause the different components to detach or for the gloss resin coating to break off.

The sterling silver fittings on your jewellery need to be treated with care. Do not use any substances to clean your jewellery as it can compromise the breastmilk/resin. Instead you can use a gentle silver cleaning cloth.

When sending your milk, please double bag it and ensure that you have clearly labelled your milk.

Keepsakes take some weeks to make to allow for drying/setting and delivery, please ask us for our current lead time, thank you.
